GENERAL OBJECTIVES:
The Facilities and Sports Turf Supervisor is responsible for managing sports turf including the soccer facility, baseball facility, and practice golf facility as well as intramural fields. The primary focus will be overseeing the scheduling and coordination of chemical applications, maintenance, and watering protocols for the sports turf surfaces. Assisting with maintaining the outdoor campus by performing landscaping tasks such as: Mowing, weed-eating, fertilizing, pruning, watering, and picking up litter. Other related duties may be assigned to support the overall functioning of the department.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Desire for growing knowledge of all turfgrass related topics
- Knowledge of different turfgrasses for various sports (soccer, baseball, golf)
- Understanding of irrigation maintenance
- Ability to work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives and goals
- Positive attitude
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree related to turf management or Sports turf
- Two (2) years of experience performing maintenance on athletic fields and golf
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise, schedule, mentor, and train student workers
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of playing surfaces including, but is not limited to turf (mowing, edging, fertilizing, aerating, top-dressing, over-seeding, painting), other athletic facilities and landscaping (trimming, maintenance, and planting).
- Knowledge of mechanics and equipment preventative maintenance
- Game day and special events field
- Reviews overall work schedules related to athletic
- Oversee day-to-day operations of department
- Pick up trash in and around athletic facilities and at designated areas in morning and evening
- Pick up loose trash around buildings and parking lots as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
WORK SCHEDULE:
Regular hours between 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday - Friday but regularly flexible hours will be required. Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

This position will work on the main campus, located at 3000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211.
