Position Summary:

The Material Handler role is responsible for managing inventory through a database and maintaining necessary levels to meet daily distribution demands.


Responsibilities:

  • Execute all required inventory transactions for materials and components being received or issued for Production or Customer Service orders.
  • Enter data into the ERP system to track the movement of materials and components used in equipment production or service order fulfillment.
  • Keep accurate and complete inventory counts in stockroom locations and within the ERP system, conducting regular cycle counts and physical audits to align inventory levels.
  • Prepare, package, and issue materials and components to Production following Shop Orders, Pick Lists, or Bills-of-Material, ensuring the accuracy of Part Numbers, quantities, and Serial or Lot Numbers as applicable.
  • Monitor materials on a Min/Max basis to maintain adequate stock levels at all times and place orders for production supplies or consumable materials as needed.
  • Support the Production and QC/Receiving Departments as required.
  • Perform various administrative tasks to aid Quality Department operations.
  • Help resolve any discrepancies in the identification, quantity, location, or status of materials and components in production.
  • Review current procedures and suggest improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, or productivity in this and other departments.
  • Aid in inventory analysis to identify and separate slow-moving items.
  • Will play an active role in identifying and driving Continuous Improvement (CI) opportunity.


Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in a technical field is preferred.
  • 3 years of post-graduate work experience in a related field or function.
  • Capability to lift at least 50 lbs./23 kilograms.
  • Work typically occurs in a manufacturing environment or at a customer's site.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods, which may involve heavy manual labor.
  • The role requires the ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop, reach, lift, push, pull, and carry items.
  • There will be exposure to loud noises.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment.
  • Awareness of and prior experience with implementing Continuous Improvement (CI) a plus.   
  • Prior Lean/Six Sigma experience a plus.
