Forsyth County's Parks and Recreation has an opening for Maintenance Technician I. This is a full-time opportunity to work outdoors at beautiful Tanglewood Park.
Great opportunity to work in an outdoor environment in western Forsyth County by performing a variety of tasks associated with park maintenance operations. This position will perform duties to include finish mowing of all designated large acreage areas, pastures, etc. on a regular scheduled basis. The main responsibility for this position would be for the proper operation and maintenance of a climate-controlled John Deere 5100E, 75 Hp Tractor and 15' Rhino batwing pull behind mower. This position would also be responsible for bush hogging operations, gravel road scraping, leaf & roadway blowing, and boom flail mowing.
This position would also be required to use several other smaller tractors in our fleet to complete tasks and perform preventive maintenance, light repairs, and general upkeep. This position may also perform unskilled to semi-skilled work in general grounds maintenance. Duties include but are not limited to shrub bed maintenance, line-trimming, push mowing, and leaf removal, sidewalk installation, tree removals, snow removal and light grading. Assists with any assigned Special Events including the Festival of Lights. This position is responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of a variety of 2-cycle equipment and some medium equipment (skid loader, lawnmowers, and tractors) after training.
Works schedule:
Monday-Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school or GED and one year experience in basic building or grounds maintenance work.
A valid driver's license is required.
An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered for minimum qualification requirements.
