PURPOSE OF JOB
In the endeavor of expanding our product offering, NeedleTech is seeking an individual to perform new processes and operate our new machines. The greatest aptitude and initial training will be required at the CNC grinder which operates like a centerless grinder with a Swiss-style collet system and conversational programming. The new production line utilizes both manual and automated processes and in time, the individual must become proficient with all of them.
Essential Job Duties:
- Produce machined parts according to blueprints, routers, specifications and/or special instructions.
- Select and set up proper tooling for the material to be machined.
- Start, operate, and stop the machine as required by cycle duration.
- Run product trials to measure and verify or adjust machine or program accuracy.
- Perform in process measurements and verify conformance or detect non-conformance of machined parts.
- Adjust machining parameters with manual or computerized controls as required.
- Check parts for conformance to specifications using various manual and electronic measuring instruments.
- Recognize process anomalies and rectify the condition or notify supervisor or group lead.
- Report significant discrepancies to supervisor or group lead.
- Dress grinding wheels as required for specific profiles or to accommodate wear.
- Record data and provide feedback if requested by the manufacturing team, engineers, or others for documentation purposes.
- Check tooling and notify supervisor or group lead of any non-conformities.
- Perform record keeping, housekeeping, cleaning, and follow all safety regulations.
- Work under supervision, but a limited degree of creativity and latitude is required.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Perform other duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Requires a high school diploma or GED.
Experience:
Requires a minimum of one to two years of experience in set up and operations, such as tool, die, grinding, and machine parts. Previous experience working centerless grinding machines is preferred. It is essential that the operators be able to use various measuring devices to ensure proper tolerances of finished product.
