Position Summary: 
The LOTO / PTW Coordinator is responsible for managing the Permit to Work (PTW) and Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) programs during commissioning. Operating under the direction of the Commissioning Manager, this role ensures safe work practices through proper documentation, training, and verification of energy isolations. The coordinator maintains program records, supports incident investigations, and provides guidance to personnel on compliance and procedural requirements.
 
Schedule:
  • North Slope, Alaska - 7 days per week, 11.5 hours per day

Essential Job Functions: 
  • Manage and maintain the PTW and LOTO databases and generate reports for daily SIMOPS meetings.
  • Ensure all permits are submitted with properly completed JSAs and meet procedural guidelines.
  • Advise personnel on documentation and approval levels required for work initiation.
  • Conduct PTW and LOTO training for project personnel.
  • Perform periodic assessments and weekly audits to ensure compliance with PTW and LOTO procedures.
  • Monitor worksites daily to verify SIMOPS board accuracy.
  • Coordinate with PTW and LOTO teams regarding permit types, work front updates, and training support.
  • Assist in identifying and tagging equipment post-construction handover to establish clear boundaries.
  • Review system boundaries prior to LUN issuance to ensure proper LOTO implementation.
  • Mentor and train new team members.
  • Conduct work in accordance with relevant codes, site-specific procedures, and safety protocols.
 
Required Minimum Qualifications:   
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of experience with PTW and LOTO/Energy Isolation Programs
  • 2 years of commissioning support on large-scale projects
  • Current and valid Driver License
  • North Slope Training Certification “NSTC” required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:   
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and process systems, equipment, and operational procedures
  • Familiarity with hazardous materials and safety regulations
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, PFDs, ISOs, SLDs, and layout drawings
  • Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulations
  • Proficiency with power tools, testing equipment, and measuring devices
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work safely, recognize hazards, and follow directions
  • Team-oriented with a commitment to quality and safety
  • Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle
