Purpose
Assists Production Supervisor in running the production area by performing the following duties. Other duties may be assigned.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Assists with the management of 10-50 production employees and temporary’s in the Production Department.
• Is responsible for assisting with the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; assisting in appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Actively participate as a member of the Safety Committee.
• Sets up and runs machines as needed.
• Trains employees on proper processes and procedures and completes applicable documentation.
• Assists in rewarding, disciplining, and directing employees in the production area.
• Flexibility to work mid-shift hours (11a-7:30p).
• Flexibility to cover planned or unplanned absences of the Production Supervisors.
• Assists with production data entry including safety documentation, quality documentation, daily production entries, and efficiency metrics.
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with 2+ years as a team leader, related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualifications
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of organization.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, commons fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Must be certified to drive a fork lift.
• Must have good communication skills and conflict resolution skills.
• Must manage time well.
• Must be skilled in conflict resolution.
