About the Work Unit:

The position reports in VUSN Academic Affairs in the Division of VUSN Innovation and Curriculum Affairs.

VUSN supports the development of innovative academic educational programs within the School that align strategically with other Vanderbilt University initiatives and that address national priorities to promote/protect health and play a vital role in providing access to health care for people everywhere.

Key Functions and Expected Performance:

Manage day-to-day operations and priorities of the assigned Program

•    Execute administrative and business-related tasks in direct support of the Program or Program Director.
•    Initiate and execute new activities and provide ongoing program support to ensure the needs of the                     directors, faculty, and students are met.
•    Create and execute policies and operational procedures by utilizing a variety of management systems and           technology tools, and initiate cost-effective program improvements.
•    Facilitate faculty committees, as assigned, to implement a variety of projects and serve on each committee.
•    Serve as liaison between Program Office and VUSN Admissions Office.
•    Coordinate and organize projects with other assigned staff supporting the VUSN specialties or Program.

Provide technical and professional leadership for planning, developing, and executing Program and 
related events/services/activities

•    Manage all aspects of academic and student services, including enrollment (YES), clinical rotation                        management, and continued clinical requirement compliance (Exxat), orientations, intensives, and open            house events.
•    Provide course-related support to faculty (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and YES).

Manage admissions and hiring processes

•    Work closely with the Program Director in the admissions and hiring processes, to include but not limited to       organizing files and arranging interviews.
•    Serve as program administrator for the online application system (Slate) and ensure that faculty training             needs are met.

Manage public relations and marketing efforts for the program

•    Manage the dissemination of information about the programs and accomplishments to relevant audiences         while collaborating with the VUSN director of communication.
•    Manage program websites, including determining content, working with a graphic designer for                               photographs, and determining the content of web videos.
•    Develop, organize, and host webinars and e-mail marketing for recruitment campaigns.

Supervisory Relationships:

This position does not have supervisory responsibility; this position reports administratively to 
the Senior Program Manager for the DNP and functionally to the Program Director for the Nurse
Anesthesia program

Education and Certifications:

•    Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education is preferred.

Experience and Skills:

•    3+ years of experience in higher education is preferred.
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe is necessary.
•    Experience using REDCap is preferred.
•    Comfort with new technology systems and adaptability to technological changes is necessary.
•    Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently is necessary.
•    Professional and pleasant attitude with tact, diplomacy, and judgment in interactions with students, faculty,       and staff is necessary.
•    Strong organizational and critical thinking skills are necessary.
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
•    Meticulous attention to detail and organization.
•    Dependable, motivated, willing to learn, and a positive team player.
