Summary:
The Crisis Care Liaison is responsibility to efficiently receive phone calls, enter data, assign calls to Crisis Specialists and maintain constant contact with all referral sources to ensure timely dispositions and transfers. This person also ensures accurate information is entered in EHR and on Whiteboard.
Education Requirement:
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Human Services or related discipline from an accredited University.
Experience Requirement:
Experience working in a mental health or crisis setting.
Mental health or crisis experience preferred.
Licensure/Certification Requirement:
None
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Answer the telephone on the first ring using appropriate greetings.
- Assign all calls to the Assessors within 15 minutes from referral time.
- Enter all required call data up to and including discharge information into EHR and whiteboard.
- Maintain frequent communication, at a minimum of at least once per hour, with all referral sources
- and disposition facilities regarding response and disposition of each call/referral.
- For referrals going to MMHI, monitor patient bed matching system and inform Shift Lead if
- additional information is requested causing a potential delay in transfer. Participate in all required
- trainings.
- Assign and prioritize calls as follows:
- Review board for calls left from previous shift.
- Delegate which Crisis Specialist will remain on-site and go off-site.
- Make assignments in order, except on-site calls. The on-site calls go to the person chosen to
- remain on-site, as long as that Crisis Specialist will be able to meet the required one hour
- response time. You may by-pass the order, if necessary, to prioritize calls based on the
- following:
- Violent patients at CAC
- High acuity patients
- Methodist and Baptist ER calls
- Other reasons deemed clinically appropriate by a Lead
- Complete report to incoming Dispatch Specialist.
- Utilize Therapeutic Options and Safe Clinch to deescalate and prevent aggressive outbursts.
- Read work email every business day.
- Abide by the policies and procedures as outlined in the Policy and Procedure Manual.

- This person must be able to work effectively in a crisis service delivery setting, exemplify problem solving skills, formulate appropriate crisis intervention response, demonstrate self-motivation, and possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
- This person must contribute to a professional, healing, and restorative environment.
PERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS
In order to appropriately accomplish his/her duties, the person occupying this position will be required to maintain effective relationships with Crisis frontline staff, Crisis Managers, and the clients of Alliance Healthcare Services.

Prolonged standing and walking; lifting, turning patients and equipment. Heavy Work - Exerting up to 150 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 75 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 30 pounds of force constantly to move objects. (May be further defined as "with or without assistance.").
