· Position Summary & Primary Responsibilities
The Memory Care Enrichment Coordinator is the leader of our Signature Petals Program who provides our residents with supportive and person-centered social connections to inspire joy, meaningful interactions, and life fulfillment. In collaboration with the Health & Wellbeing team, the Memory Care Enrichment Coordinator will lead and tailor purposeful programming to help achieve our Mission of creating a sense of community where residents and team members THRIVE.
Some of the elements of our Signature Petals Program include Physical Wellbeing, Creative Arts, Social Connections, Waters Academy, Integrated & Spiritual Therapies and Music & Arts Enrichment.
The Memory Care Enrichment Coordinator is responsible for providing an exceptional resident experience through engaging programming while upholding our Waters Values and always acting with hospitality, dignity, and respect while accomplishing the following:
Job Duties
· Establishes trusting, respectful partnerships with families in order to achieve best quality of life outcomes for each individual of our Petals Neighborhood through *completion of a Life Story Questionnaire, taking part in care conferences, composing/sending regular communications, participating in New Family Orientations, educating on Dementia-related topics using Petals Tips and other resources, and more.
· Establishes trusting, respectful partnerships with Health and Wellbeing team members in order to achieve best quality-of-life outcomes for each individual of our Petals Neighborhood through real-time coaching to Petals Tips and successful Dementia approaches, modeling techniques that create connection between individuals in the Neighborhood, providing Health and Wellbeing team members with the tools, training, and support needed to be part of the programming activities of the Neighborhood, being available to team members for non-clinical support, brainstorming, and discovery sessions, and more.
· Uses resident Life Story Questionnaires and The Waters Programming Standards to provide daily active life programs to meet the interests and capabilities of the residents.
· Responsible for ensuring effective and appropriate creation and facilitation of all calendared programs, by outside hired vendors, team members, or volunteers.
· Responsible oversight of the community's Memory Care budget under supervision of the Director of Health and Wellbeing.
· Responsible for conducting outings for residents of the Petals Neighborhood. Outings are defined as, and are a mix of, going into the larger part of the Waters/Waters Senior Living Management community for programs such as musical performances or social hours, or going into the community at large for activities such as baseball games or garden tours.
· Capable of safely transporting residents in 14-passenger bus, while following the guidelines of the Bus Driver Training Curriculum/Safety Procedures (The Waters auto insurance carrier has an age requirement; drivers must be between the ages of 25 and 75 years old). A requirement of this role.
Education & Experience
· Minimum of two years direct programming experience with seniors living with Dementia required
· Certified Dementia Practitioner or equivalent
· Experience with sensory integration programming preferred
· Experience with massage/healing touch/Reiki or similar preferred
· Experience with integrative therapies such as massage, aromatherapy, pet and music therapies, art, horticulture, yoga/tai chi preferred
· Experience in functional training programs, stability, balance, group, and mind/body preferred
· Public transportation driving experience preferred
