Position Overview:

IMT Residential is hiring a Corporate Compliance Analyst for our Risk Management department. This position has a hybrid schedule with some days remote and some days in our Sherman Oaks Corporate Office.

  • Pay - $70,000-$75,000 per year depending upon upon skills, certifications, experience, and education related to the role

Position Details:

The Corporate Compliance Analyst (CA) assists with identifying potential areas of vulnerability and risk across the organization, and developing and implementing corrective action plans. The CA works with various associates throughout the organization to ensure that appropriate regulatory policies, procedures and controls are established, documented, and adhered to. This position reports to the Associate Vice President. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct year-round compliance audits to ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local rules with a focus on apartment lease contracts and utility billing. This involves communication with the field operations, other corporate departments, legal counsel, etc.
  • Ensure all IMT regulatory and compliance tasks are completed timely by utilizing an in-house tracker. Manage and oversee this tracker by notifying applicable IMT associates/departments of various upcoming deadlines and ensuring completion
  • Provide overall compliance related guidance and support to all of the corporate departments and properties throughout the organization
  • Develop, organize and deliver communication on compliance policies and procedures to ensure understanding of related risks and responsibilities; and
  • Be knowledgeable of current and upcoming legislative changes for all markets in which IMT operates through multiple sources including NMHC and NAA

 

Other duties include:

 

Lease Management:

  • Maintain and monitor apartment application/lease contract software (Blue Moon) and ensure the leases and addenda are in compliance for all states
  • Conduct QC audits to confirm adherence

Utility Billing:

  • Ensure ongoing compliance with the ever changing utility billing regulations by jurisdiction 
  • Review all regulatory changes in advance to provide ample time for management’s review and implementation

Audits:

  • Responsible for conducting systematic audits to confirm adherence to all company policies and procedures including leases, fair housing, signages, DBA filings, licensing, etc. 

Miscellaneous:

  • Conduct various special projects as they arise, for example, music licensing, trespass signage, record retention, compliance logs, etc.
  • Answer all Fair Housing complaints which require thorough investigation and knowledge of Fair Housing rules
  • File all low-income housing renewal applications

Please apply if you have:

  • College education in business or finance is helpful
  • Audit, compliance, project management and multifamily housing experience is helpful
  • Working knowledge of compliance issues that relate to the multifamily housing industry is helpful
  • Possess excellent time and project management skills, organization, and flexibility
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem solving and critical thinking abilities to mitigate problems
  • Ability to effectively handle a variety of issues simultaneously that differ in nature, complexity and resolution stage
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with an eye for detail and attention to deadlines
  • Ability to write clear and effective correspondence, policies and procedures, and reports
  • Work well independently as well as within a team
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills, particularly Excel and Word
