Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Security Instrument Technician to work on our Physical Security Systems team. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our INTEC facility with every Friday off.
You will perform complex installations and preventative and corrective maintenance on electronic security systems at our INTEC facility. You will report to the Sr. Manager of the Physical Security Systems department.
Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance (corrective, preventative, predictive, routine, and troubleshooting) on instrumentation systems and components including closed circuit television video equipment, balanced magnetic switches, infrared intrusion detection, card reader access control systems, radar systems, and fiber optic systems in accordance with Department of Energy (DOE) orders, Security Systems procedures, federal specifications, NRC regulations, and best business practices..
- Participate in the work control process planning walk down process by providing recommendations to the planner on hazard identification, hazard mitigation, technical information, task sequencing, resource requirements, equipment requirements, and other information to produce a work document that can be used in the field to accomplish the identified work scope.
- Review work orders/packages per INL work control procedures and provide meaningful and useful feedback.
- Actively participate in INL briefings and post job reviews. Perform walk downs as directed by management.
- Provide on-the-job training to other craftsmen as requested by maintenance management.
- Provide feedback to management on any training needs or improvements that are needed to drive better performance and identifying any opportunities for improvement.
- Provide feedback to the Planning Manager and/or Planning Technical Lead on any recommended improvements to the work order documentation process.
- Maintain assigned qualifications in accordance with the INL and applicable program qualification process.
Plan, implement, and execute special projects within area of expertise assigned by management.
