Overview
We are seeking a Mission Systems Architect (Sensors) with extensive years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the defence industry and Sensor systems architecture, Design, Requirements, Verification, Validation and Testing - Ideally with strong expertise across the V life cycle, and Authoring Documentation. We are looking for a Engineer who promotes a mindset of attention to detail, communication, and teamwork within there team. Candidates with a good understanding of working within the Sensor Architecture, with experience across the 'V' lifecycle processes and methodologies should apply.
Responsibilities
Leading of the following activities as part of a multi-functional engineering team below:
- Requirements Management (capture, manipulation and management of systems requirements)
- Definition of auto-throttle and wave-off logic
- Definition of Flight Control System (FCS) software integration and sensors for dynamic glidepath tracking
- Research and Development
- Design Process Engineering
- Behavioural Design Engineering
- Safety Engineering (analysis of the Systems Safety requirements)
- Integration (structuring and partitioning of complex systems)
- Specification and Procurement
- Performance Analysis
- Proof of Design (Certification and Qualification)
- Human Factors and Cockpit Integration
- Integration, Qualification & Acceptance
- Installation and Support
Qualifications
- Degree educated Science/Engineering discipline or HND/HNC with sound experience of the Engineering Lifecycle or equivalent
Essential skills
Essential skills:
- A good grounding in Airframe Sensor systems
- Background in Systems Engineering
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively
- Knowledge of Systems Engineering especially ‘Systems of Systems’ engineering
Desirable skills:
- Knowledge of the European Product Safety, CE and EMC legislation would be beneficial but not essential
