Role overview
We are seeking an experienced Paralegal to join our Banking Corporate Structured Lending team. This embedded role will focus on supporting senior and mezzanine financing transactions, property finance and real estate finance mandates. Please note that this position does not cover pure real estate matters; applicants must demonstrate a clear background in real estate finance and complex financing transactions.

Key responsibilities

  • Proactively coordinate all aspects of finance transactions, including those involving senior and mezzanine debt, property finance and real estate finance arrangements
  • Manage Conditions Precedent (CP) checklists, ensure timely satisfaction of all CP requirements and act as a central point of contact for transaction stakeholders
  • Liaise closely with clients, fee earners and third parties to ensure smooth transaction execution
  • Prepare, review and manage core financing and ancillary documentation, ensuring consistency and legal accuracy
  • Support transaction closings, overseeing completion processes and maintaining accurate records
  • Oversee due diligence processes relating to finance aspects and support the maintenance of transaction bibles, with a particular focus on CP and transaction management rather than post-completion administrative collation
  • Monitor transaction timelines, anticipate next steps and provide regular updates to internal and external stakeholders
  • Address transaction-related queries efficiently and contribute actively to successful deal delivery

Candidate requirements

  • LPC/SQE or a qualified lawyer
  • Minimum of two years’ relevant paralegal experience within a leading law firm or in-house legal team, with a particular focus on banking, finance or real estate finance transactions
  • Demonstrable experience of managing senior or mezzanine financing structures and real estate finance transactions
  • Sound understanding of financing documentation, CP management and the lifecycle of finance transactions
  • Ability to coordinate multiple workstreams independently, exercising sound judgement and organisational skill
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build productive working relationships across all levels
  • A meticulous and proactive approach, with a focus on accuracy and efficient delivery in a fast-paced environment
