WECU is seeking a full-time Service Consultant (Teller) to join our Ferndale branch located in Ferndale, WA. This individual will strive to make a meaningful difference in member’s lives as defined by WECU’s mission and vision. This position is responsible for processing a wide variety of member transactions, while consistently referring members for other financial services.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Sales Expectations

  • Assess member needs: Engage in meaningful conversations to understand member goals and recommend tailored product solutions to meet their needs.
  • Achieve sales targets: Through adherence to WECU’s sales strategy, consistently meet individual and team sales goals and track referral activity. Prioritize "Selling through Service" to drive product adoption and long-term relationships.
  • Build trust and engagement: Follow up with members to ensure satisfaction, address any additional needs, and maintain ongoing communication to position WECU as their first choice for future financial products and services.
  • Maintain product knowledge: Continuously enhance expertise in all WECU products and services and actively assist members in obtaining and using them.

  • Provide exceptional service: To achieve NPS member loyalty goals, offer personalized advice, clear explanations and accurate service, ensuring members understand the value of WECU and how our products and services fit into their financial plans. 
  • Resolve member concerns: Address issues with action and effectiveness, ensuring a positive experience and a continued trusted relationship. 

Operational Activities

  • Process a wide variety of financial transactions including but not limited to deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments and wire transfers.
  • Able to handle cash transactions quickly and accurately. 
  • Process Safe Deposit Box entries.
  • Manage attendance and schedule availability to support branch needs.
  • Perform other member service functions as needed and assist others to complete tasks and work assignments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.        

Security and Regulatory Duties

  • Understand and comply with branch security procedures at all times.
  • Employ sound judgment, maintaining knowledge of and adhering to all accuracy standards described in internal and external policies and procedures.
  • Follow WECU’s policies and all applicable laws and regulations. 

 QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Related experience and/or training in a similar role at a financial institution preferred, 1 year customer facing experience in a retail environment may be accepted instead.
  • Customer service with cash handling experience preferred. Relevant training in a credit union, bank, or other financial institution.
  • Bi-lingual Spanish a plus.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.   
  • Must effectively present information in one-on-one situations to members, potential members and other employees of the credit union.

COMPENSATION:  

The salary range for this position is from $20.00 to $26.95 per hour.
