Job Description:At Genea, our Senior Scientists play a key role in delivering top-quality embryology services across our network and in partner clinics. This role blends advanced lab expertise with leadership and adaptability, as you’ll often support teams in different environments.
Day to day, you’ll carry out and oversee complex procedures such as ICSI, biopsy, tissue transfer, vitrification, and embryo warming. You’ll also help shape research and new lab techniques, making sure everything meets the highest scientific and regulatory standards. Just as importantly, you’ll mentor junior scientists, lead training across sites, and ensure the safety of our patients’ gametes and embryos.
Beyond the science, this role is about people. We’re looking for someone who can build a positive, supportive workplace culture—keeping staff morale high and encouraging collaboration. You’ll need confidence in decision-making, a calm approach to troubleshooting, and the ability to bring out the best in others, especially when supporting smaller or external clinics.
Qualifications:- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in embryology, including trainee period.
- Master Degree is preferable
- Demonstrated competency in all advanced embryology techniques, including biopsy and complex ICSI.
- Proven ability to operate effectively across multiple sites or in start-up/expansion environments.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and training capability.
- Evidence of professional development and contribution to scientific projects or procedural innovation.
- Excellent communication skills with clinicians, patients, and multidisciplinary teams.
Our staff tell us it is the people they work with that makes them stay. That, and our exceptional success rates. It is pretty special working for one of Australia's leading IVF clinics.
