This is a direct support position, aimed to assist the people we support with understanding the impact of work on their public benefits including SSA, Medicare, Medicaid, and any additional benefits received. The goal is to provide participants with information allowing them to make an informed decision regarding the amount of work and earnings preferred.
Primary duties of this position are as follows:
- Complete the training and certification process to become a Certified Benefits Counselor.
- Manage a caseload of participants and provide benefits counseling services.
- Assist caseload with concerns and questions related to their public benefits received.
- Assist participants with understanding the need for benefits counseling
- Follow protocols regarding funding and how supports are provided
Skills required:
- Great communication, both written and verbal
- Detail oriented and strong organizational skills
- Problem solving and critical thinking
- Ability to analyze public benefits policies

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree preferred (four year college or technical school).
- 1 plus years of experience in Education, Social Services or Business preferred.
- Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office products, specifically Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Possess valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
- Must have access to an automobile and internet access at home.
- Must be able to pass all required background checks.
