JOB FUNCTIONS
- Interview members from assigned branches applying for residential mortgages to make certain all pertinent information/data is collected.
- Perform preliminary analysis of mortgage applications to make certain that member(s) qualify for the loan based upon the information provided at the time of application.
- Prepare and send initial disclosures to member(s) so that government regulations are met and informed.
- Be knowledgeable of underwriting criteria and pricing. This would also include being knowledgeable of FNMA and FHLMC underwriting guidelines.
- Network with internal business partners, branches, and external business partners to grow existing database further.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE
- Incumbent should possess three years of increasingly responsible experience in mortgage lending and be familiar with the loan origination functions.
- Be familiar with all credit union services and possess the ability to cross-sell to members.
- Able to retain and expand internal & external business partners.
SKILLS
- The individual should have excellent oral, written and listening skills; be able to handle pressure; effectively communicate with all levels of personnel; have the ability to work on several projects simultaneously and satisfy the required objectives while providing exceptional service to the membership and work positively with other team members.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- A college degree in a business-related field or its equivalent to five years of financial institution experience, specifically in mortgage lending, is preferred.
- Experience with ICE Mortgage Technology and Encompass software preferred.
- Attendance of required credit union industry seminars, workshops, and conventions.
- Maintain compliance with the federal Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act (SAFE Act), MLOs at Mortgage Solutions, LLC must maintain professional state-licensing requirements.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The position requires the following physical activities within varying environmental conditions:
- Occasionally remaining in a stationary position which may be standing or sitting for a prolonged period of time.
- Occasional travel or moving from one office location to another or from one department to another at the headquarters building.
- Occasional lifting, moving, or adjusting objects up to 20 pounds.
- Constant communication with others through various channels including verbal, email, and chat of which the last two may require consistent use of a keyboard and mouse or another electronic device.
- Work will be in a commercially reasonable temperature-controlled environment.
- Occasional temporary exterior site review which could be in outdoor elements of wind, rain, or snow.
