DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW

The administrative team at LFSRM includes the Finance, Human Resources (HR), Information Technology, and Executive Administration teams. With staff located all over the Rocky Mountain region, it is our aim to provide high-quality support and ensure that staff in direct services have a foundation of operational and strategic excellence to build their work upon.

JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Human Resources (HR) Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level in benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, recruiting/employment, safety, and employment law compliance.

REQUIRED COMPETANCIES

  • Employment Law: Familiarity with federal and local legislation which governs labor conditions.
  • Employee Relations and Performance Management: Performing employee relations functions, including support and guidance regarding conflicts, performance issues, disciplinary action, and termination.
  • Applying Company Policies: Knowledge and application of the principles and rules that direct the activities and processes of the organization.
  • Recruiting Employees: Scoping the job role, advertising, conducting interviews, and assisting hiring managers in selecting staff in line with company policy and legislation.
  • Work-Related Reports: Knowledge of work-related reports that support effective relationship management and a high standard of documentation and record keeping. Write and present results and conclusions in a clear and intelligible way so they are comprehensible to a non-expert audience.

EXAMPLE ACTIVITIES

  • Interprets and explains human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations.
  • Maintains current knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and affirmative action guidelines and laws, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • Addresses employee relations issues, such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other employee concerns.
  • Guides employees through leave of absence processes.
  • Conducts exit interviews.
  • Manages workers compensation claims.
  • Reviews employment applications and job orders to match applicants with job requirements.

TRANSPORTATION

  • Must maintain a valid driver's license and carry personal auto liability insurance at the level of $100,000/300,000/100,000.
  • Occasional regional travel with personal vehicle.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

  • PHR or SHRM-CP preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred.
  • At least 2 years' related experience required. At least 2 years' experience as a Human Resources Generalist preferred.
