Seton Catholic Schools is a network of K-8 parish schools in Milwaukee. There are currently 15 schools serving nearly 3600 students in the network. The network is planned to expand to a total of 20 schools serving nearly 7500 students, making Seton the largest Catholic elementary school network in the country. Seton is strengthening academics, faith formation and life-long outcomes for all students and is a unique model on the front end of transforming Catholic education in Milwaukee and across the nation.
Role Summary
Position involves safely transporting food and supplies to various school locations according to a set schedule. This role requires loading and unloading items, maintaining the delivery vehicle, and ensuring timely and accurate deliveries. The driver also assists with food preparation, serving, and maintaining cleanliness in food service areas as needed.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Transportation: Safely operate a truck to transport food, supplies, and equipment to and from schools, kitchens, and network.
- Loading/Unloading: Accurately load and unload items, ensuring proper handling and securement of food and supplies.
- Delivery: Deliver items to designated locations according to a predetermined schedule, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain the delivery vehicle in a clean and safe operating condition, performing routine checks and reporting any issues.
- Food Handling: Assist with food preparation, portioning, serving, and restocking serving lines during meal service.
- Sanitation: Maintain cleanliness of food storage areas, serving lines, and the delivery vehicle.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with food service staff and supervisors regarding deliveries, schedules, and any issues.
- Safety: Adhere to all safety standards, including safe driving practices and proper food handling procedures.
- Other duties: Perform other related duties, as assigned, which may include tasks like assisting with special events or cleaning duties.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Must pass the Catholic Mutual driving requirements
- Ability to operate a truck and other related equipment.
- Physical ability to lift at least 75# and carry items, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to schedules.
- Other duties as assigned
