Job Summary
The Fleet Maintenance Advisor will lead and oversee all maintenance related items associated with our commercial fleet within a specific region. This person will plan, organize, and assign preventive and remedial maintenance work for trucks and automobiles or equipment as well as implement and maintain safety programs as related to the fleet.

Drive Excellence. Power Performance. Lead the Future of Fleet.

Are you ready to take the wheel of a dynamic, high-impact role that keeps our fleet running strong and safe? As a Fleet Maintenance Advisor (FMA), you’ll be the go-to expert overseeing the health and performance of our commercial and light-duty fleet across your region. From Class 6–8 trucks to trailers and specialty equipment, you’ll lead the charge in preventive care, emergency response, vendor management, and compliance—all while driving innovation and uptime.

This is more than maintenance—this is mission-critical leadership.

What You’ll Own & Lead

Essential Responsibilities

  • Preventive Maintenance Mastery: Plan and execute scheduled services like brake replacements, oil changes, inspections, liftgate servicing, and prepping new assets for deployment.
  • Rapid Response: Lead unplanned maintenance efforts—roadside repairs, tire replacements, towing, accident recovery, and leak mitigation.
  • Vendor Collaboration: Partner daily with vendors and terminal managers to ensure repairs are timely, cost-effective, and aligned with operational needs.
  • Tire Program Oversight: Manage purchasing, inventory, rotations, and replacements for all fleet assets.
  • Compliance Champion: Keep maintenance records audit-ready and aligned with DOT/FMCSA standards.
  • Fleet Optimization: Direct assets to the right vendors for maximum uptime and performance.
  • Inspection & Documentation: Scrutinize DVIRs, maintain regulatory compliance, and manage vehicle documentation (registration, emissions, HAZMAT, etc.).
  • Asset Lifecycle Management: Track incoming/outgoing equipment, oversee decommissioning, and ensure appearance standards are met.
  • Safety & Certification Scheduling: Coordinate inspections for fire extinguishers, meters, and cargo tanks.
  • Vendor Network Expansion: Identify and onboard new service providers, negotiate pricing, and build strong relationships.
  • Hands-On Repairs: Perform minor fixes to reduce downtime and keep the fleet moving.
  • Expense Management: Track fleet-related purchases and travel expenses.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Manage driver supplies—hoses, fittings, lights, pumps, generators, and more.

What You Bring to the Table

Required Skills & Experience

  • A valid driver’s license with a clean record.
  • Deep knowledge of DOT, OSHA, MSHA, and fleet safety regulations.
  • Proven experience in large fleet environments and petroleum/lubricant equipment.
  • Advanced understanding of heavy-duty engines (CAT, Cummins, Detroit, etc.), transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • Budgeting and inventory control expertise.
  • Strong grasp of cargo loading and securement.
  • High-energy, fast-paced mindset with excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Tech-savvy with NetSuite, MS Office, and telematics platforms (Samsara, PeopleNet, Motive).
  • Purchase order management and emergency repair readiness.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Class A CDL with HAZMAT/tanker endorsements.
  • Experience in industrial, mining, or railroad sectors.
  • Maintenance experience with cranes, tilt beds, and HAZMAT cargo tanks.
  • Technical/trade school certification.
  • Background in fuel, lubricant, or transportation industries.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Frequent travel to customer/vendor sites.
  • Outdoor work in varied conditions (heat, cold, wet, dusty).
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. climb, kneel, and navigate diverse terrains.

Why This Role Matters

You’re not just maintaining equipment—you’re enabling operations, ensuring safety, and driving reliability across the fleet. Your expertise keeps our teams moving and our customers satisfied. If you thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and love solving problems before they happen, this is your opportunity to lead with impact.
