(This is a grant-funded, non-tenure track position through 10/1/25. Funding must be available for any continuation of appointment.)

Position Description: This position will assist the PSEP program coordinator in the day-to-day tasks of the LSU AgCenter’s Pesticide Safety Education Program. The major tasks of this position include day-to-day office activities to include: updating printed and video-based study materials for both commercial and private pesticide applicators across Louisiana, telephone and email correspondence supporting these constituents as well as basic record keeping for the program. Another major focus will include organizing recertification and certification conferences for commercial and private pesticide applicators throughout the state (Note: Occasional, overnight travel for these conferences will be required.). A minor focus of this position will involve public education/outreach to homeowners and groups such as the Master Gardeners regarding pesticide safety issues.
Qualification Requirements: Extension Associate Bachelor’s degree is required. A B.S. in an agricultural related field is desired but not required. Desire proficiency in planning and executing educational programs. The candidate should have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other Microsoft programs. A practical knowledge of general pesticide safety and/or pesticide regulation is preferred. Candidate must be an effective communicator, utilize mass media in outreach programs and possess the ability to work cooperatively with individuals and groups. Be self-motivated and able to work on projects with little direct supervision. Being bilingual in English and Spanish is also a desirable but not a required qualification.

The LSU AgCenter, is one of eight campuses within the broader LSU enterprise (LSU System). The LSU AgCenter includes the Louisiana Agricultural Experiment Station, which conducts agricultural-based research, and the Louisiana Cooperative Extension Service, which extends the knowledge derived from research to the people of the state.
