A Safety Coordinator will be responsible for facilitating compliance with all federal safety guidelines. The main goal of this position will be to always ensure a safe working environment and prevent any injuries and accidents.
Responsibilities:
- Assist or facilitate daily and weekly safety meetings
- Perform various safety training in areas of expertise
- Complete daily job site, plant, and shop inspections
- Perform incident investigation and complete reports as needed
- Uphold OSHA, MSHA, FMCSA, EM 385, MUTCD Code of Federal Regulation, and Company safety standards on all properties owned or managed and job sites
- Distribute and manage stock of PPE and other safety supplies
- Work harmoniously, cooperatively, and courteously with others at all times.
- Perform various tasks and duties that may change often as the work conditions require.
- Work within defined standards of accuracy.
- Work in various weather conditions, including temperatures over 85 degrees and below 40 degrees.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Valid Driver's License and Clean MVR
- Ability to travel throughout the state. An occasional overnight stay may be needed.
- Basic computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to use arms and hand to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects.
- Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted.
- See and hear well (naturally or with correction.)
- Bilingual Required (English/Spanish)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or extensive background in a safety position
- Any of the following Certifications: OSHA 500, 501, 510, 511, 2015, 2045, 2055, 2225, 2255, 2264, 3015, 3115, 3095
