Parsec, LLC. is currently seeking an Operations Supervisor for our operation based in New Orleans, LA. This position oversees day-to-day automotive loading and unloading operations at the rail ramp, ensuring vehicles are safely, efficiently, and accurately handled onto and off of trains.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Oversee daily ramp operations: vehicle loading/unloading, securement, inspections, and train movements.
- Ensure compliance with FRA/OSHA standards, customer specs, and rail carrier rules.
- Lead, train, and supervise ramp staff (Loaders, Spotters, Safety personnel).
- Conduct pre-shift briefings to set priorities, safety reminders, and production goals.
- Monitor employee performance and provide feedback, recognition, or corrective action.
- Enforce safety protocols and perform routine audits (blind-side, securement, PPE).
- Investigate and report incidents, near misses, and vehicle damage claims.
- Act as liaison with Class-1 railroad reps and automotive customers.
- Track and report load counts, dwell times, and operational metrics.
- Identify and implement process improvements to reduce dwell time and increase throughput.
The ideal candidate should possess the following:
- Previous supervisory experience in rail, automotive logistics, or intermodal operations preferred.
- Strong knowledge of automotive securement, ramp procedures, and railroad safety standards.
- Willingness to work in varying weather condition
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree (Preferred)
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office
