Description
The Accounting Clerk plays a vital role in supporting the Finance Department by collecting, entering, and verifying AP & payroll-related information to ensure accurate and timely vendor payments and employee compensation. This entry-level position is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational and data entry skills, who is eager to develop a career in accounting.
Technical Skills:

Requirements
- Input vendor invoices in accounting system, obtain approval and process vendor payments.
- Monitor the AP email inbox, respond to vendor queries, and provide excellent customer service.
- Collect and verify timekeeping records and other payroll data.
- Input employee information, wages, bonuses, deductions, and adjustments into the payroll system.
- Process and issue paychecks and direct deposits accurately and on schedule.
- Generate payroll journal entry reports after each payroll cycle and reconcile with bank transactions to ensure accuracy.
- Monitor the payroll email inbox, respond to employee payroll queries, and provide excellent customer service.
- Open and sort payroll-related mail, including tax notices and garnishments, and distribute to the appropriate parties.
- Assist with filing, data entry, and other administrative tasks within the Finance Department as needed.
Skills and Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience: Prior experience in AP, payroll, accounting, or administrative support is preferred but not required.
Work Environment
This position is in-office and part of the Finance Department. This position requires the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Training and support will be provided, with opportunities to grow within Finance function.
