Shift Hours: 1st Shift (7:00 am – 3:00 pm) Monday - Friday

As a Shipper/Receiver, you will play a crucial role in our Distribution Center team by performing tasks related to the efficient flow of goods in and out of our warehouse facility. You will become proficient in both shipping and receiving duties. You will be responsible for accurately receiving incoming shipments of raw materials and equipment, preparing outgoing shipments of raw materials and finished product, and maintaining organized inventory records.
What you’ll accomplish:
- Receive, inspect, and document incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders and ensuring quality standards.
- Safely unload, transport, and store raw materials and finished products using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
- Organize and rotate inventory using FIFO (first in, first out) methods to maintain accuracy and freshness.
- Prepare and load outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, and securing products according to schedule.
- Maintain accurate records for all inbound and outbound shipments using ERP systems and reports.
- Greet and check in drivers and visitors, ensuring a professional and safe environment.
- Collaborate with team members across departments to prioritize and complete customer orders on time.
- Help maintain warehouse cleanliness by participating in the Master Sanitation program.
- Take part in department, team, and company meetings to support continuous improvement.
- Complete and maintain up-to-date certifications and training as required, including safety protocols, chemical handling, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- May perform a variety of tasks which directly contribute to Rhino Foods but may not directly relate to the primary duties and responsibilities of the job.
- Flexibility is essential in Rhino’s ability to respond to short-term demands and ensure smooth operations during busy times. You may be involved in voluntary overtime or temporary assignments that result in extended shifts, weekends shifts, work completed on a different shift or at another Rhino location based on business needs.
Requirements
What you’ll need to succeed:
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- 6+ months of experience in warehousing, food manufacturing, or forklift operation (preferred).
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and meet safety requirements.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and product quality.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work respectfully and collaboratively.
- Good problem-solving skills and being able to address routine issues and know when to escalate more complex ones.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction) and the ability to record accurate information.
- Comfortable using email, Microsoft Office, and other software for daily communication and recordkeeping.
- Willingness to learn, share knowledge, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
This position involves working within a production and warehouse environment. This environment includes exposure to variable temperatures, including heat and temperatures as low as 15 degrees Fahrenheit (-20 degrees for Warehouse facility). Requires constant standing (8 hours a day), prolonged walking, and frequent/repetitive bending, stooping, reaching, pushing/pulling; prolonged contact with frozen food items, water, detergents, sanitizers, and allergens such as peanuts; machinery noise. Requires lifting and carrying up to 62 lbs. between the floor and 50” high and lifting 40 pounds overhead. Compliance with OSHA and industry standards includes wearing required PPE such as steel-toe production boots, nitrile gloves, face protection (when appropriate), hearing protection, and hair and beard nets. All jewelry and adornments on the hands, wrists, and above the neck must be removable and off while in production areas.
