Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will develop and implement personalized therapy programs aimed at supporting the development and rehabilitation of individuals with mental, physical, or emotional disabilities. Your expertise will help clients achieve greater independence and improve their quality of life.


Key Responsibilities:

- Assess clients' needs, abilities, and goals through comprehensive evaluations.

- Develop individualized occupational therapy plans tailored to each client's specific conditions and objectives.

- Conduct therapy sessions to facilitate physical, emotional, or cognitive development and rehabilitation.

- Monitor and document clients' progress, adjusting therapy plans as necessary.

- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, families, and caregivers to ensure cohesive care and support.

- Educate clients and their families on strategies and exercises to promote ongoing development and independence.

- Maintain accurate and timely records of therapy sessions and client progress.


Skills and Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy.

- Valid licensure or certification as an Occupational Therapist in the relevant jurisdiction.

- Proven experience in developing and conducting occupational therapy programs.

- Strong assessment and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including individuals with mental, physical, or emotional disabilities.

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

- Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to improving clients' well-being.

Requirements

- Address patient’s aspects of performance to support engagement in occupations that affect health, well-being and life quality.

- Select and adapt the appropriate per case occupational therapy treatment model, method and approach to direct the process of interventions. 

- Apply interventions to maximize safety and performance in activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL). 

- Teach patients new ways of approaching tasks and educate them on how to break down activities into achievable components. 

- Assess patients’ home and other environments and advise on alterations consistent with their needs and capabilities.

- Recommend adaptive equipment and train in its use. 

- Guide and educate family members and caregivers.

- Observe, note, and report on progress of long- and short-term treatment goals.

- Collect data and document processes followed.

- Documents patient care services according to approved medical documentation and facility documentation procedures. 

- Develops a plan for patients following completion of their Plan of Treatment with appropriate in-home care services.
