We are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Crew Trainer to join our Pre-Construction team. This role is critical to our operational success, responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive training programs to front-line construction teams. You will lead the onboarding of new employees while providing ongoing training, development, and coaching to advance workforce capabilities and ensure project excellence.

The Role
- Design and deliver training programs for construction crews on specialized equipment and procedures including directional drilling, missile boring, trenching, plowing, micro-trenching, fiber optic splicing and installation techniques
- Integrate safety practices into all training programs
- Monitor compliance with industry standards and company policies
- Monitor construction crews in the field for real-time coaching and feedback
- Support construction managers with crew operations on assigned projects
- Mentor junior laborers and developing crew members
- Conduct quality assurance reviews and provide corrective guidance
- Develop and maintain current training curriculum and materials
- Conduct formal presentations and hands-on training sessions
- Assess crew competency and provide performance feedback
- Coordinate new hire training programs and ride-along assignments with Certified Field Trainers
- Ensure completion of all safety training, checklists, and certification tests
- Work with management to schedule route assignments and start dates
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in broadband or telecommunications construction
- Proven experience delivering formal training programs and presentations
- Background in cable TV industry quality assurance, survey techniques, and troubleshooting
- Exceptional communication skills for in-person and virtual training delivery
- Strong presentation and curriculum development abilities
- Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills
- Superior time management, problem-solving, and troubleshooting capabilities
- Ability to provide constructive feedback and performance coaching
- Flexibility to manage changing priorities and adapt to field conditions
- Ability to work in various environments: indoors, outdoors, confined spaces, and elevated positions
- Physical capability for bending, reaching, twisting, climbing, and extended computer work
- Comfortable navigating diverse terrains while managing equipment and tools
- Ability to travel +/- 50% annually
- Must provide a valid government-issued photo ID for verification; a driver’s license is required if the role involves driving
- Passing of all pre-employment requirements (MVR, Background Check, Drug Screen)
