What You'll Do
The VP - FP&A assists the Executive team in oversight and management of the Company’s regions and branches via reporting and internal control related activities. This position is responsible for monitoring branch profitability and business strategy and must use strong analytical skills to create detailed reporting and analysis to support overall branch profitability. The VP – FP&A must also be a direct leader and mentor to the Branch Manager group as well as members of the accounting team.
Responsibilities
1. Partner with Executive Team, Branch Managers, and the accounting team to establish accounting processes, meet deadlines, resolve issues, and enhance the organization overall;
2. Develop and implement policies and procedures for monitoring branch accounting activities including streamlining processes to create workload efficiencies;
3. Micromanage branch financials; monitor and evaluate branch activities and P&L profitability, including pricing/revenue effectiveness, headcount & compensation, and operating expense management;
4. Manage branch modeling to evaluate the impact of variations in volume, pricing, and expenses (loan specific, headcount, benefits, leases, and all other operating expenses);
5. Develop profit & loss proformas for targeted sales teams;
6. Assist CFO with monthly financial reporting and analysis for DAS and related companies;
7. Maintain a thorough understanding of the DAS general ledger structure and financial systems;
Analyze current accounting practices and policies and recommend changes as appropriate and necessary.

Job Requirements
Broad Knowledge & Experience: Residential mortgage banking industry and familiarity with Mortgage banking/products and investors are a plus but not required. Financial Reporting and analysis. Strong understanding of GAAP.
Above Average Skills: High degree of functional knowledge in subject matter. Comfortable with multiple technological platforms. Exceptional attention to detail. Intermediate use of Excel.
Demonstrated Ability: Ability to effectively communicate with team members and upper management; manage competing priorities.
General Knowledge: Well organized, analytical, positive attitude, strong work ethic, collaborative mindset, understands the meaning of teamwork.

Education & Experience
Degree or Equivalent: Finance or Accounting degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Years’ Experience: Progressive experience in an accounting supervisory role.
Specialized Training: Familiarity with Power BI. Industry knowledge is a plus including exposure to Compensafe, Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Loan Vision accounting software, and Ellie Mae Encompass.
Active Affiliations, Certifications: CPA or CMA are a plus but not required.
