 The Quality Control (QC) Manager is a key leadership role responsible for building, implementing, and managing quality control systems that ensure products meet or exceed customer, regulatory, and internal standards. This role goes beyond inspection oversight it drives process improvement, operational excellence, and LEAN manufacturing integration across the organization. The QC Manager will partner with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality Assurance (QA) to reduce defects, eliminate waste, and continuously improve manufacturing performance. Schedule: Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm 

Relocation:  This is a 100% on-site role that requires regular travel between our Belle Chasse, LA, and Bay St. Louis, MS facilities. Relocation assistance is not available, so we are giving priority to local candidates.

What You'll Do:


Quality Control Leadership & Oversight

  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust QC processes, inspection standards, and defect-prevention strategies aligned with customer and regulatory requirements.  
  • Lead, mentor, and develop QC personnel to ensure proper training, technical competency, and alignment with company quality goals.  
  • Establish and monitor QC metrics (defect trends, first-pass yield, scrap/rework rates) and use data-driven insights to improve product quality and process reliability.  
  • Oversee calibration, maintenance, and use of inspection and test equipment to ensure measurement accuracy.  
  • Support and participate in internal/external audits, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001:2015, industry standards, and customer requirements.  

Process Improvement & LEAN Integration

  • Act as a continuous improvement leader on the shop floor, identifying bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and waste in manufacturing processes.  
  • Implement and sustain LEAN, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis methodologies to improve productivity, reduce defects, and increase first-pass yield.  
  • Collaborate with Production and Engineering teams to integrate mistake-proofing (poka-yoke), standardized work, and defect-prevention strategies into everyday operations.  
  • Drive a culture where quality is built into processes, not inspected in after the fact.  

Supplier & Customer Quality Engagement

  • Oversee supplier quality activities, including incoming inspections, audits, and corrective actions for nonconforming materials.  
  • Partner with Customer Support and Engineering to investigate complaints, manage nonconformances, and implement effective corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).  
  • Build strong relationships with customers by demonstrating commitment to quality, responsiveness, and reliability.  
  • Represent Quality Control in customer meetings, audits, and technical discussions.

 

Qualifications

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field required
     
  • Advanced degree or MBA a plus.
     
  • Certification in ASQ CQE (Certified Quality Engineer), CQM/OE (Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence), or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt strongly preferred.
     

Experience

  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in quality control or quality engineering within a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a leadership/managerial role.
     
  • Proven track record of leading ISO 9001:2015 compliance, audits, and quality management systems.
     
  • Strong background in LEAN manufacturing, continuous improvement, and root cause analysis.
     
  • Hands-on experience with inspection methods, calibration systems, and quality tools (SPC, PPAP, FMEA, control plans, CAPA, etc.).
     
  • Experience working in oil & gas, marine, or energy manufacturing environments highly preferred.

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
     
  • Effective communicator with the ability to present data, influence stakeholders, and drive cross-functional collaboration.
     
  • Proficient with quality management systems (QMS), ERP/MRP platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
     
  • Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing processes.
