Facility Security (Part-time Year Round) chez Cleveland Guardians

PRIMARY PURPOSE: Provide a safe and protected facility at Progressive Field, the executive entrance, and employee parking facilities.

WORK SCHEDULE: This is a part-time role offering approximately 40 hours per week. The regular schedule for this position is as follows:

• Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays
• 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. 

Additional shifts assigned based on needs and availability.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

• Perform regularly scheduled security checks and rounds of the facility and grounds during all hours of the day as directed.
• Report and document any incidents, accidents, alarms, maintenance discrepancies, intrusions, or any other occurrence that should be brought to the attention of management.
• Maintain logs, monitor contractors, deliveries, and interact responsibly with diverse entities performing business at Progressive Field.
• Oversee and monitor the surveillance system, screen vehicles, and operate security equipment as necessary.
• Implement emergency response procedures in accordance with company security policy and procedure.
• Interface with Cleveland Police, Gateway personnel, Game Day Security & Maintenance, and all other Progressive Field associates as necessary.
• Ability and willingness to work a number of different posts with ranging responsibilities.
• Ability and willingness to learn, adapt and take direction.
• Monitor and direct traffic and parking in our underground service area.
• Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to learn and retain knowledge of all areas of Progressive Field and grounds.
• Excellent interpersonal and security skills.
• Microsoft Word and Excel plus the ability to learn, understand, and use our computerized surveillance system, incident reporting program, entry control system, and any other technologies Progressive Field possesses or installs.
• Must possess the ability to operate security-monitoring equipment, fire alarm equipment and comprehend written security protocols.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must be in good physical and mental condition and able to perform extensive foot patrol duties during all weather conditions.
• Must possess a high school diploma or G.E.D.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Must be able to handle stressful situations and emergency situations.

• Represents the Cleveland Guardians in a positive fashion to all business partners and the general public.
• Ability to develop and maintain successful working relationships with members of the Front Office.

• Ability to work with diverse populations and have a demonstrated commitment to social justice.
• Ability to walk, sit or stand for an entire shift.
• Ability to work extended days and hours, including holidays and weekends.
• Ability to move throughout all areas and levels of the Ballpark.
• Ability to work in a diverse and changing environment.
• Occasional physical activity such as lifting and carrying boxes up to 55 lbs.
