St. Ann's Home & School in Methuen, MA is a leader in special education and residential programming, offering private day school programs, child and adolescent services along with a broad range of outpatient services.

We are seeking a master's level therapist with an interest in becoming an essential part of our multi-disciplinary team. Day School Therapists provide weekly individual and family therapy as well as case management, treating children and adolescents. They may also be assigned cases in our residential, acute care program {CBAT, TCU, and emergency residence program if needed or clinically indicated}

Qualified candidates must have LMHC, LICSW, or LCSW or be license eligible.

Clinical supervision is an essential part of working in this setting and is provided to all therapists within the agency and in accordance with board requirements for those seeking licensure.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to providing weekly individual counseling to students, family therapy or check in every week, fulfilling paperwork requirements including weekly therapy notes, case conference reports, developing IEP goals and objectives and quarterly progress reports. Therapists will also be required to interface and collaborate with collaterals, along with other case management responsibilities and participation in staff meetings. This position also requires phone or in person consultation on an emergency basis for students and their families. This position may require some early evenings and meetings outside of typical business hours. St. Ann's school day hours are 8:30-2:30 Monday-Friday. The regular academic year runs for 180 days. St. Ann's also operates a 36-day Summer Day Program, and this position requires the therapist to work throughout the summer program.

Day School therapists meet regularly with the teaching staff regarding the children they see in therapy and are available to the teaching staff as needed regarding problems which arise in school. The day school therapist and the student's classroom teacher comprise the treatment team for all day students and are responsible for the formulation and

 

implementation of all aspects of their treatment plans and for assessing any special help day students may need.

Day School therapists are involved in the day student's discharge from the day treatment programming and for certain of the follow up services after discharge.

Therapists must be able to sit for long periods of time, drive a motor vehicle, write extensively, use the telephone for extended periods of time, climb stairs, lift and carry 11 - 20 lbs. Therapists must be able to participate in activities and recreation, react quickly, and be able to physically restrain youth in an emergency to ensure everyone's safety is maintained. Staff are trained in trauma-informed techniques to safely respond to occasionally aggressive, self-injurious, or unsafe behaviors. There is extensive contact with other agencies, parents, courts, physicians, etc., via telephone and in person.
