Job Description:

As a Pecan Picker, you will play a crucial role in the harvesting process of our high-quality pecans. Your attention to detail, physical dexterity, and commitment to maintaining the quality of our produce will contribute directly to the success of our farm and the satisfaction of our customers.

Responsibilities:

Harvesting Pecans: Using appropriate tools and techniques, carefully pick ripe pecans from the trees. Ensure minimal damage to the nuts and the surrounding foliage.

Sorting and Grading: Inspect harvested pecans for quality, sorting them based on size, color, and any visible defects. Follow grading guidelines provided by the farm.

Packaging: Carefully place sorted pecans into designated containers or crates, taking care to avoid bruising or crushing. Properly seal and label containers for storage and transportation.

Maintaining Cleanliness: Keep work areas clean and organized to ensure a safe and efficient working environment. Dispose of any waste or debris appropriately.

Team Collaboration: Coordinate with fellow pecan pickers, supervisors, and other farm staff to optimize the harvesting process. Communicate effectively and contribute to a positive team atmosphere.

Adhering to Safety Standards: Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.

Reporting Issues: Report any equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or quality issues to the supervisor promptly.

Efficiency: Strive to meet or exceed daily harvesting quotas while maintaining the quality of the harvested pecans.
