Under the general direction of the Executive Director / Superintendent or designee, the Early College Academy Principal is the lead administrator for the school's hybrid independent study college program. In this role, the Academy Principal is responsible for the leadership of the 9th-12th grade academic program and daily operations for 140 students. The Early College Academy program consists of college-preparatory course content aligned with UC/CSU a-g requirements, along with a dual enrollment partnership with Los Rios Community College District. Among the primary goals and objectives of the position is to assure a positive and supportive learning environment for the academy's students, staff, and families.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with diverse high school students and independent study instructional models. While a preliminary or clear administrative credential is not required, it is highly encouraged. As a small academy, the Academy Principal may also need to occasionally oversee student independent study, so a valid California teaching credential (multiple subject or single subject) is required for the position.
