About the Department
Kent County Community Action is hiring a Senior Center Attendant (Bilingual – Part Time) to oversee the daily operations of our senior meal site. This role ensures a welcoming, safe, and engaging environment where older adults – many of whom speak Spanish – can connect, learn, and enjoy meaningful experiences. The site specializes in exploring Latin American culture through meals, activities, and community events, creating a distinctive opportunity to integrate cultural elements with supportive services for seniors.

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead recreational and educational activities that support wellness and social connection.
- Serve as the primary contact for participants, volunteers, and community partners.
- Provide friendly, bilingual support (English/Spanish) to participants.
- Coordinate logistics for classes, events, and transportation.
- Promote programs through outreach and digital/print communications.
- Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for all.
What You Bring:
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Experience working with older adults and diverse communities.
- Ability to communicate fluently (verbal and written) in Spanish and English.
- Ability to lead activities and build community partnerships.
Schedule:
This is a part-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma and 1 year of experience working with at risk and/or vulnerable populations in a professional setting required.
Ability to communicate fluently (verbal and written) in Spanish and English.
Associate degree in human services, social work, recreation, gerontology, or a related field preferred
