The E-Rate Consultant ensures school clients receive all possible E-rate funding for individual schools, districts, and charter schools and executes sales and renewals while scaling processes to capture significant market opportunity. This position blends a business development mindset and an organized and detailed approach in working with LEAs and program officials for the planning, development, organization, and implementation of the E-Rate program for client schools.Coordinate and manage client participation in the Universal Service Fund (USF) E-rate program, ensuring compliance with federal guidelines and maximizing funding opportunities.
Serve as the primary liaison between schools, the FCC, USAC, and other agencies to facilitate program implementation and broadband initiatives.
Communicate and collaborate with school officials, technology coordinators, and local applicants to provide guidance, resolve issues, and ensure program success.
Verify program eligibility by reviewing applicant status, Free and Reduced Lunch Program (FRLP) rates, and National School Lunch Program data, ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
Assist schools and districts in preparing for and responding to USAC and FCC audits, including internal and external reviews.
Respond promptly to Program Integrity Assurance (PIA) review requests and act as the contact of last resort for applicants requiring escalated support.
Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting for E-rate filings through phone, email, and direct consultation.
Design, develop, and deliver E-rate training sessions, outreach programs, and workshops via webinars, online platforms, and in-person events.
Present E-rate program updates, compliance requirements, and best practices at conferences and professional events, including the ADE conference.
Participate in monthly webinars, FCC/SLD calls, and annual training sessions to maintain up-to-date knowledge of program changes and requirements.
Review and evaluate school technology plans to ensure alignment with E-rate program guidelines and funding priorities.
Establish and maintain effective communication channels to keep clients informed of program updates, deadlines, and funding opportunities.
Represent schools as their designated E-rate Coordinator when requested, ensuring accurate and timely completion of program requirements.
Collaborate with internal teams (Product, IT, Marketing, Accounting) to align pipeline, pricing, billing, and reporting, and coordinate with education services peers to bundle E-rate with other initiatives.
Build and manage a sales pipeline by identifying target schools, launching campaigns, crafting proposals and Statements of Work (SOWs), conducting demos/webinars, and negotiating and closing deals to achieve positive NOI within margin expectations.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree or 3 years of related experience.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience owning sales/revenue targets.
Experience in contract creation and management and working with/within K-12 school systems.
COMPETENCIES – SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:
Advanced Knowledge of the E-Rate Program or the ability to quickly and accurately learn the E-Rate program.
Working knowledge of government procurement processes.
Strong sales acumen (prospecting, solution selling, negotiation, closing).
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal/relationship building skills with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholder management across executive to school-level audiences.
Proven ability to utilize processes, manage multiple projects, and meet expectations under deadline pressure.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills combined with discretion, sound judgment, confidentiality, and a collaborative mindset in remote/hybrid environments.
Ability to work with a minimal amount of direction while being pro-active in keeping management informed.
