Job Description:
The Director, IT Operations will provide strategic leadership for OneOncology’s IT Operations organization, overseeing the Network Operations Center (NOC), Tier 3 Escalations, and IT Project Engineering teams. This role is responsible for shaping the long-term IT Operations strategy, ensuring organization-wide reliability, scalability, and alignment with business objectives. The Director will lead operational excellence, implement governance frameworks, and drive cross-functional technology initiatives that support OneOncology’s mission. This role balances strategic vision with practical oversight, guiding the delivery of complex infrastructure and cloud projects while fostering a high-performing, collaborative IT Operations team.
Responsibilities
Provide leadership and development for a multi-disciplinary IT Operations team, cultivating a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with IT leadership and business stakeholders to define, prioritize, and execute the IT Operations roadmap, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Oversee tier 3 incident escalation processes, ensuring timely resolution of complex issues and continuous improvement in operational resilience.
Strategically guide the Network Operations Center, leveraging analytics and monitoring frameworks (RMM tools) to optimize infrastructure performance and proactively mitigate risks.
Define and oversee IT operational governance, including Change Management, Major Incident Management, and Problem Management, ensuring process maturity and adherence to best practices.
Provide direction and oversight for IT infrastructure and cloud initiatives, ensuring projects meet scope, schedule, quality, and organizational objectives.
Lead the development and continuous enhancement of IT operations policies, standards, and frameworks, driving operational efficiency, security, and resilience.
Champion cross-functional collaboration between IT Operations, Security, Service Delivery, and business stakeholders, ensuring IT initiatives support organizational priorities.
Define key performance indicators, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms to track operational effectiveness, inform decision-making, and demonstrate IT’s value.
Provide guidance on infrastructure architecture, cloud strategy, and disaster recovery planning to ensure systems are scalable, reliable, and secure.
Oversee vendor relationships, procurement, and IT Operations budgets, optimizing cost, performance, and service delivery.
Drive financial strategy and accountability for assigned products and services, including oversight of invoices, expenditures, and budgetary alignment.
Other duties as assigned to help drive our mission of improving the lives of everyone living with cancer.
Key Competencies
Proven leadership experience managing multi-disciplinary IT Operations teams in distributed or high-growth environments.
Strong technical knowledge across infrastructure, networking, storage, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or similar), and IT operations tools, with the ability to translate technical solutions into business outcomes.
Demonstrated success in incident management, problem management, operational governance, and large-scale infrastructure or cloud initiatives.
Skilled in disaster recovery planning, system performance optimization, and operational resilience.
Excellent people leadership, with a track record of building high-performing, collaborative teams.
Strong business acumen and the ability to align IT investments and operations to organizational priorities.
Outstanding communication skills, able to present complex technical concepts to both technical & non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
8+ years of progressive leadership experience in IT Operations, including management of multi-disciplinary teams, budgets, and strategic initiatives.
Deep expertise with Microsoft 365 platform, backup and recovery solutions, and system monitoring tools.
Superior verbal and written communication skills.
Willingness to stay current with emerging networking technologies and industry trends.
Healthcare experience is a plus.
