Summary:  

The Talent Acquisition and Retention Administrative Assistant provides administrative support and talent management functions for Hudsonville Public Schools.  This role maintains HRIS systems and coordinates staffing needs including recruiting, scheduling interviews, maintaining staff changes, updating user access and collaborating with Administrators.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • HRIS Systems 
    • Maintain job descriptions and job postings
    • Assist Administrators with access to candidates, interviewing and hiring
    • Maintain onboarding checklists and proper workflow
    • Send reference emails when requested
    • Manage all personnel information changes
    • Manage all support staff position changes
    • Assist with state reporting
    • Assist Payroll/Business Office as needed
  • Criminal History Record Information (CHRI)
    • Utilize CHRISS system to ensure proper storage and sharing of criminal history information
    • Assist with state audits
  • Global Compliance Network Training
    • Manage staff access to GCN portal
    • Ensure annual completion of required trainings
  • Student Teachers/Interns 
    • Collect required paperwork and enter into HRIS and state reporting systems as required
  • General
    • Answer general Human Resources, Payroll and Benefits questions
    • Complete Verifications of Employment
    • Organize and plan hiring season events including new staff dinner and orientations
    • Other duties may be assigned

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: Not applicable 

 

Direct Report: Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources

Education and/or Experience:

Required:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Three years in general administrative assistant work and/or training
  • Highly effective organization skills and initiative

 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field 
  • Human Resources and Administrative support experience
  • Additional training and/or education

 

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret communication including emails, letters, spreadsheet and forms  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from the community, regulatory agencies or staff members

 

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to calculate basic mathematical formulas; add and subtract totals; multiply and divide; determine percentages and decimals; spatial aptitude to inspect length and weight of objects 

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
