POSITION: Food Service Assistant
LOCATION: Kenowa Hills High School
SCHEDULE: 2.75 hours/day
Approximately 10:45-1:30
RATE OF PAY: Per Board Authorization
QUALIFICATIONS and DUTIES: Including, but not limited to the following:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Prior food service experience in a school or institutional setting is a plus.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team
environment. -
Strong self-starting initiative with a proactive approach to daily tasks.

Excellent attendance and punctuality required.

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.

Basic math skills required for measuring ingredients, portioning, operating a
point-of-sale (POS) system, and production records. -
Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation procedures preferred (ServSafe
certification is a plus). -
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Must be able to bend, squat, and stand for extended periods.

Ability to work in an environment where the noise level is generally moderate, but
can be high at times and temperatures are varied
Duties and Responsibilities:
-
Prepare, cook, and serve meals in accordance with school nutrition guidelines
and standardized recipes. -
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, serving areas, and equipment.

Set up and break down serving lines and dining areas before and after meal
service. -
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., ovens, warmers).

Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen tools according to health regulations.

Monitor inventory levels and notify supervisor of needed supplies.

Accurately portion and serve meals to students and staff.
-
Follow directions from kitchen lead while demonstrating independent problem-
solving when needed. -
Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing food deliveries.

Support a positive and inclusive environment for all students and staff.
-
Adhere to all district policies, state health codes, and food safety standards.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Though it is not to be construed as an exhaustive statement of duties, responsibilities, or requirements of all food service positions, the general content of and requirements for the performance of a food service team member are noted below:
