Job Description:
As the Vice President of Technology at a Fidelity Labs’ startup, you will orchestrate the technical vision and execution of our innovative, customer-facing platforms, with a focus on Microservices Architecture solutions and new technologies like digital assets. You will lead a high-performing engineering team, driving the end-to-end development and delivery of scalable, secure, and robust enterprise platforms. Collaborating closely with product, design, and business partners, you will build the technical strategy, ensure architectural excellence, and foster a culture of innovation and operational efficiency. Your leadership will empower Fidelity Labs to deliver ground-breaking financial solutions, applying your expertise in API platforms, enterprise systems, and familiarity with digital asset technologies.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
15+ years of experience leading end-to-end development and delivery of enterprise-grade platforms, from conceptualization to production in startups and financial institutions
Proven expertise in architecting and scaling API platforms, with a focus on performance, security, and developer experience
Strong background in payment systems, financial services, or FinTech, with experience in high-throughput transaction processing (preferred)
Familiarity with cryptocurrency, blockchain, and digital assets, including knowledge of wallets, smart contracts, or decentralized finance (DeFi)
Demonstrated leadership in building and mentoring high-performing engineering teams, encouraging technical excellence and innovation
Deep understanding of software architecture principles, microservices, cloud-native technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), and system integration
Experience driving agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices to ensure rapid and reliable delivery
Strong track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams and aligning technical strategy with business objectives
Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to articulate sophisticated technical strategies to diverse partners, including executives and non-technical teams
Proven track record to navigate complex regulatory and compliance requirements in financial services or related industries
Experience contributing to or demonstrating open-source technologies to accelerate platform development
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Strategic approach with a passion for innovation, staying ahead of industry trends in APIs, payments, and digital assets
