About the role  

Join Essential Water as the Asset and Maintenance Coordinator, where you’ll apply your technical expertise to ensure the integrity and performance of water and sewer network assets including water and wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, reservoirs and reticulation networks. You’ll be responsible for reviewing asset data, assessing maintenance requirements, and recommending improvements aligned with business outcomes. This role plays a key part in managing asset reliability and compliance, while driving continuous improvement across Essential Water’s asset management systems.

This position will be based in Broken Hill NSW.

 

About You  

You are a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in industrial assets and maintenance. You thrive in collaborative environments, possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and are committed to delivering high-quality outcomes. Your ability to interpret complex data and provide strategic recommendations makes you a valuable contributor to multidisciplinary teams.

About your skills

  • Strong technical skills in data analysis and risk assessment
  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
  • High attention to detail and process improvement focus
  • Leadership, negotiation, and influencing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Effective time management and organisational skills
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft 365 ecosystem and software relevant to the asset and maintenance management discipline

Required Qualifications

  • Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical Trade or Electrotechnology
  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • General Construction Induction Card (White Card)

Desired experience

  • Diploma in Business/Project Management or equivalent experience
  • Asset and/or Maintenance Management Certifications
  • Chemical Awareness, Handling & Storage
  • Confined Space Entry
  • Knowledge of water and sewer network assets
  • Experience with asset inspection, testing, and reporting
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and/or Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) systems
  • Understanding of Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Global Information System (GIS) software
  • Strong grasp of safety and risk management principles
