MUST BE A CURRENT GRAYS HARBOR COLLEGE STUDENT TO APPLY. Grays Harbor College is seeking a part-time Passport to Careers Program Assistant. The hours for this position are flexible and will fall between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends. Work hours will average 15 per week. This is a part-time, non-permanent position and is not eligible for benefits.
The Passport to Careers program helps former foster youth and unaccompanied homeless youth prepare for and succeed in college, apprenticeships, or pre-apprenticeship programs. Through Passport to College, students get a scholarship and support services from college staff. Funds can be used for tuition, fees, books, housing, transportation, and some personal expenses. The Program Assistant reports to the Passport to Careers Designated Support Staff and provides direct support to Passport students at Grays Harbor College. This role is student-focused and is not eligible or remote or hybrid work.

Position Duties
Program Support
- Provide program outreach as needed.
- Manage resource table multiple times per quarter, times are flexible.
- Following established guidelines, respond to inquiries regarding Passport programs (and sister programs like Education Training Vouchers), eligibility requirements, and procedures.
- Know confidentiality protocols and maintain confidentiality completely.
- Keep current on campus resources for students.
- Operate a variety of office equipment such as computers and associated software, printers, multi-line phone system, and copy machine.
- Create documents such as flyers, brochures, ads, posters, and newsletters.
- Communicate with others via electronic means (Outlook, Microsoft Teams, and Canvas).
- Assist in management of the Passport Programs Canvas page.
- Regular use of Microsoft Office products, especially Word and Outlook.
- Maintain a clean and tidy workspace and shared student space.
- Attend training or other Passport events, as required (in-person and/or virtual).
- Create and host a quarterly workshop for Passport students.
- Assist the Designated Support Staff with special projects, as requested.
- Occasional weekends/evenings may be required.

REQUIRED
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Current student at Grays Harbor College
- Self-directed and highly organized
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Outstanding interpersonal skills
- Background similar to students in Passport to Careers program (previous experience in the foster system or as an unaccompanied homeless youth)
- Clerical or customer service experience
- Conversational Spanish
