Seasonal Part-Time Spice Merchant (Retail Sales Associate) chez The Spice House

Description

The Spice House is looking for personable Seasonal Part-Time Spice Merchants (Retail Sales Associates) who know about and enjoy food & cooking, and have the ability to share this knowledge with our customers. The ideal candidate will have retail experience and or customer service experience.

Openings are through December 31st with the opportunity to move into a permanent position based on available openings and performance. Employees will be scheduled for 2-4 shifts/week, for a total of 8-20 hours. Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years days are guaranteed days off but you must be available those Holiday weeks and weekends that we are open.

Responsibilities:

• Provide excellent customer service in a specialty food retail environment
• Warmly welcome customers and assist them throughout their store visit as needed
• Support the store team during PEAK days and hours with the following responsibilities:
  • Customer order entry in the POS
  • Stock organization and replenishment
  • Stock inventory management and receiving
  • Overall store cleaning and visual merchandising assistance
  • Customer assistance and guidance

Requirements

• Must be available to work daily shifts and weekend now through Dec. 31st. (Opportunity to move into a permanent position based on available openings and performance)
• Must be available to work the week prior and of Thanksgiving, Christmas and weekends beginning 11/17/2024 - 12/31/2024.
• Minimum 1 year retail experience and/or relatable experience preferred
• Friendly, outgoing demeanor with a strong commitment to customer service - You genuinely like to connect with people!
• Ability to express oneself clearly and persuasively when connecting with customers and making sales
• Calm, professional and able to problem solve
• Must be competent with technology and POS systems
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds, walk and stand for extended periods of time and able to go up and down stairs
• Passion for food and flavor is a must!
