Supervisor – Environmental Services – Full Time

What to expect as a Supervisor of Environment Services:
- Assists in the overall supervision of the Housekeeping Department
- Assures that personnel are performing assigned tasks in accordance with hospital Housekeeping Policies and Procedures.
- Training employees to ensure proper technique and understanding of such.
- Orients all newly hired and current housekeeping staff to new job responsibilities.
- Coordinates Housekeeping responsibilities and services in other hospital departments under the direction of the Hospitality Serivces Director.
- Daily communicates with housekeeping staff and ensures all assigned areas are cleaned by end of shift by completing Supervisors Report and prioritizes the oncoming shifts responsibilities.
- Responsible for conducting cleaning inspections and oversees corrections of deficiencies.
- Answers all calls/pages for Housekeeping. Answers all STAT requests as calls for service are received. Assigns any work related to any person supervised and/or self.
- Ensures all meeting areas/scheduled functions are complete and accurate as requested. Any concerns are documented and discussed with Department Director.
- Assist floor care maintenance and project cleaning as scheduled/needed.
- Assist in performing daily cleaning to include mopping and carpet spotting of offices, ancillary, meeting areas, off-site facilities as assigned/scheduled/as needed basis.
- Oversees and documents efficient safe operation and care of housekeeping equipment for preventative maintenance.
- Discusses with Director any changes or concerns in cleaning times, procedures, policies effecting Housekeeping Department responsibilities.
- Ensures the Event Report/Care & Concern report are completed if warranted.
- Oversees and maintains in-service records.
- Order supplies, ensure SDS is attached, and accurately processes invoices/PO’s, gas receipts, etc.
- Accurately tracks and files manifest from infectious waste hauling and confirms disposal of Stericycle.
- Enters work orders as needed.
- Regular attendance and flexible shift hours required per department need.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Requires effective oral and written communication skills to communicate with customers and staff.
- Requires ability to identify, evaluate situations to include problems and recommend solutions for
- quality of housekeeping department services.
- 1 year of Supervisory experience
