POSITION SUMMARY:
The Centralized Insurance Coordinator will prepare copay estimates and review insurance benefits with patients. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:
- Coordinate with insurance providers to verify dental coverage and determine patient co-pays and out of pocket expenses
- Ensures coordination of benefits are accurate and considered as part of the financial planning.
- Provide cost estimates and discuss payment options with patients
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of treatment plans, financial agreements, and patient communications
- Knowledge of dental coding
- Communicate any changes or updates to the treatment plan to the appropriate staff members
- Audit patient accounts
- Serves as a liaison between insurance carriers, staff and patients to resolve any concerns and maintain a positive working relationship
- Ensures all insurance related duties are completed in a timely and accurate manner to ensure excellent patient relations and financial success for the Practice
- Respond efficiently to patient needs and inquiries
- Other duties as assigned

Requirements
- Two plus years preparing copay estimates, claim resolution, and insurance verification - Preferably in Dental
- Accounts receivable experience - Preferably in Dental
- Positive attitude with focus on positive patient experience
- Exceptional organization and communication skills
- Bookkeeping skills; basic knowledge of accounting
- Excellent organization skills and strong attention to detail
- Multi-tasker with the ability to prioritize work accordingly
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously under the pressure of tight deadlines and multiple priorities
- Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook
A Plus If You Also Have (preferred, but not required):
- Prior experience using dental software including Open Dental
