Your Opportunity

Stantec's multi-disciplinary office on 5th Avenue in NYC has an opportunity for a highly motivated Transportation Engineering Intern/Co-op.

This paid internship/co-op position offers full-time or part-time hours during the Fall of 2025. We believe that training, collaboration, and connections are enhanced through in-person interactions with team members. Consequently, this role is predominantly office-based, with minimal remote work expected, if any. 

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with transportation impact studies, traffic data collection and analysis, report preparation, and other technical assignments. 
  • Gather traffic data from publicly available sources and through field visits.
  • Analyze traffic data utilizing Microsoft Excel.
  • Conduct traffic analyses using HCS, Synchro, VISSIM, and Cube.
  • Provide support to our roadway design and traffic engineering teams.
  • Perform additional duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Attention to detail
  • Effective in fast-paced team environments
  • Strong oral, interpersonal, written, and graphic communication skills
  • Interest in transportation planning and engineering

Education and Experience

Applicants must be currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program. 


Position will primarily be in an office setting; may require some field work to collect data. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
