Assistant Production Supervisor

The Assistant Production Supervisor at Wolverine Packing is responsible for leading production employees in a fast paced hamburger production plant. This is a high volume, lean manufacturing environment. You will lead a team to identify problems or bottlenecks in production processes and resolve issues. Most importantly, you will be responsible for creating an engaged and team-oriented work force. 

2nd shift (2pm - 11:30pm) Monday - Friday and every other Saturday as needed. Start and finish times may vary. 

Pay rate is $24/HR, plus a $1 shift premium, based on experience, 50-60 hours per week can be expected. 

Key Qualifications:    

  • Past supervisor or foreman experience in a fast paced food or manufacturing environment      
  • Proven leadership, persuasion, initiative, and communication skills     
  • Strong knowledge of food production processes and lean manufacturing are preferred  
  • Food safety training will be provided and is not required for employment         
  • Knowledge of OSHA and food safety standards are preferred         

 

Job Requirements:   

  • Ability to lead, coach, and communicate with all levels of the organization     
  • Identify issues in efficiency and suggest improvements     
  • Ensure employees are trained and understand how to follow work instructions     
  • Work on continuous improvement and efficiency of each operation     
  • Enforce safety guidelines and company standards     
  • The position is very hands on, and supervisors are on the plant floor about 80% of the shift     
  • Ability to directly supervise employees in a fast paced food production or processing department     
  • Candidate must be open to working afternoon shift. The position requires a commitment of 50-60 hours per week.

The employee frequently is required to stand for long periods of time, walk; and stoop, and kneel. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds. The employee must wear protective clothing, foot protection, hairnet, face mask and gloves.
