The Role
We’re looking for a Sales Experimentation Lead to blaze the trail for how shoppers will engage with brands in the future. This isn’t about following a script, it’s about writing it. Sitting at the crossroads of sales, growth, and product innovation, you’ll be the creative force behind new approaches to shopper engagement. By working directly with real customers, you’ll uncover the insights and breakthroughs that will define our playbook and lay the foundation for the AI that will scale it to millions.
Unlike a traditional sales or CX role, this is about inventing what comes next. You’ll design and run experiments across the customer journey, act as a concierge for select shoppers, and translate findings into actionable roadmaps for both sales and product teams.
This is a very hands-on role, expect to spend much of your time chatting directly with shoppers, trialing new approaches, and learning fast.
What You’ll Do
Act as a concierge for real D2C shoppers via SMS, iMessage, and other channels, building relationships and guiding them through purchases.
Design and run structured sales experiments across lifecycle touchpoints: cart abandonment, winbacks, post-purchase upsells, subscription growth, and more.
Apply sales fundamentals (qualification, discovery, objection handling, closing) in creative, shopper-centric ways.
Form hypotheses, run experiments, and report learnings in clear, structured insights.
Collaborate closely with the AI/product team to inform automation opportunities and scale the tactics that work.
Help shape a “sales experimentation roadmap” by organizing and prioritizing new ideas from across the team.
Document experiment results to create the foundation of Intellica’s future AI playbook.
Contribute to Intellica’s broader GTM strategy by surfacing what resonates most with shoppers.
Who You Are
Creative & Experimental: You’re energized by trying new approaches, comfortable with ambiguity, and driven to learn what works through rapid iteration.
Sales-Trained: Exposure to formal sales concepts like discovery, qualification, and objection handling, with a focus on relationship-driven selling.
Hands-On: You thrive in direct shopper conversations, not just desk-based analysis.
Ecommerce Familiar: Experience with D2C brands, online shopping, or digital customer engagement (Shopify or similar platforms a plus).
Data-Driven Storyteller: Able to connect dots between qualitative insights and quantitative results, and communicate findings clearly.
Startup DNA: Comfortable operating in fast-moving, lightly-structured environments with a scrappy, collaborative team.
Nice to Haves
Background in sales development, CX, or growth marketing with a strong customer-facing orientation.
Experience running structured experiments or A/B tests in a commercial context.
Familiarity with SMS or conversational commerce platforms.
