Essential Job Functions

  • Work with Customs Compliance Manager to develop and maintain Customs Brokerage policies and procedures 
  • Assist with client set-up 
  • Conduct audits of Customs Brokerage entry work 
  • Assist with post entry functions for clients 
  • Establish and maintain continuous bonds for clients 
  • Effectively communicate import and CBP requirements to clients. 
  • Utilize all available resources, including the Section and Chapter Notes of the HTS, General Rules of Interpretation, previous rulings issued by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Explanatory Notes, Informed Compliance Publications (ICPs), and client-furnished technical information including specifications, pictures, diagrams, renderings, examples, etc. to render assist tariff classifications under the HTS for Crane’s clients. 
  • Perform analysis of ACE data for clients and present findings. 
  • Consult clients either transitionally or as part of projects on a variety of import and international trade matters
  • Other duties as assigned 

Other Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to perform research and make determinations in a fast-paced, quality-focused environment. 
  • Sense of urgency and attention to detail are critical. 
  • Perform data entry and draft opinion papers. 
  • Maintain an organized work environment. 
  • Keep informed of latest news and developments impacting trade and regulatory compliance. 
  • Experienced in using MS Word, and Excel
  • Strong organizational and time management skills. 
  • Understanding of Title 19 Code of Federal Regulations. 
  • Capable of typing 50 to 80 words per minute. 
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. 
  • Possess strong client service skills

Physical Requirements

  • Talking, hearing and using hands to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and other computer components
  •  Sitting for extended periods of time
  •  Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus

Education & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in customs brokerage or regulatory compliance fields 

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

  • Professional certification may be required in some areas.
