About the Role
Parent Advocates / Family Time Coaches
Dover, NH • Up to 29 hours per week • Monday–Friday (some weekends as needed)
If supporting families through life’s toughest chapters stirs something in you, this part‑time role may be your calling. As a Parent Advocate / Family Time Coach, you’ll be a trusted guide for parents involved with child protective services, using the evidence‑based Visit Coaching model to nurture safe, meaningful connections during supervised family time.
What Your Days Might Look Like
Champion family time. Safely transport children, create a welcoming space, and facilitate visits where healing can take root.
Coach for growth. Translate treatment‑plan goals into practical, strengths‑based guidance on safety, parenting skills, and life skills.
Coordinate care. Partner closely with CPSWs/JPPOs, foster or kinship caregivers, and your Waypoint supervisor to keep everyone rowing in the same direction.
Empower change. Celebrate small victories, model healthy boundaries, and help parents practice new skills in real time.
What You’ll Bring

Education/Experience:
Associate degree and two years of relevant human‑services work or four years of directly related experience.
Parenting experience? Even better.
At least 22 years of age (required by DCYF).
Steady, compassionate presence with children and adults navigating stress.
Flexible availability—including evenings and occasional weekends—so families can meet when it works for them.
Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and insurance that meets agency standards (mileage reimbursed).
Ability to install car seats, lift 25 lbs, follow active kiddos, and climb stairs during visits.
Strong documentation and tech skills (Office 365, SharePoint, electronic health records).
Respect for confidentiality and a knack for balancing empathy with clear professional boundaries.
