Universal Banker II Job Description 

A Universal Banker II supervises and assists the Universal Banker I line in processing a variety of financial transactions including check cashing, withdrawals, deposits, loan payments, and opening accounts. UB II’s are also responsible for vault auditing, ordering cash, supervising each UB I’s daily reconciliation and manages the schedule. Personal service and dependable guidance is a must. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Contributes to team effort by effectively supervising Universal Banker I’s.
• Assist UB I’s in dealing with complex customer complaints and challenges for effective resolution.
• Assist UB Is with balancing and reconciliation issues.
• Ensures that UB I’s are trained and comply with all regulatory and security policies and procedures.
• Manages the branch currency levels, tracks currency shipments and deliveries.
• Manages the UB line schedule, to include approval/denial of requested PTO days to ensure there are UB I’s to provide sufficient service.
• Receiving deposits and loan payments, cashing checks, issuing savings withdrawals and recording night and mail deposits.
• Sells cashier’s checks and series e bonds.
• Answers questions in person or on telephone and refers customers to other bank services as necessary.
• Open new bank accounts (checking, savings, IRAs and CDs) according to regulations and procedures.
• Provide exceptional customer service to customers in a friendly and courteous manner at all times.
• Have sufficient knowledge about the banking products and services and respond to all inquiries accordingly.
• Ensure that all the bank’s policies and procedures, code of conduct and regulatory guidelines are strictly complied with in the process of discharging duties.
• Provide information to customers on their account status and account balances.
• Provide assistance to all other members of staff in other departments of the bank by liaising with them through healthy interactions.
• Establish and promote cordial relationship with customers, ensuring prompt attendance to their inquiries and solving their problems to grant them maximum satisfaction.
• Ensure that customers’ confidential information is properly protected and only used for official purposes.

§ Understand the bank’s policies and propose solutions to customer problems, and also possess in-depth knowledge of the company’s products/services so that the customers can be correctly informed.

§ As the first line of contact customers have with the bank, Universal Banker IIs are expected to be courteous, friendly, helpful and neatly dressed at all times.

§ Back-up teller as needed.

§ All other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

· Effective listening skills demonstrated by the ability to listen to other people talk without interruptions, understand them and then propose solutions or make contributions based on the points made.

· Strong communication skills. 

· Must possess excellent multi-tasking skills and be able to function under pressure.

· Ability to use the computer efficiently and also learn how to use new software.

· Must be patient and willing to help others in solving problems while maintaining a positive attitude at all times.

· Must have a keen eye for detail and follow instructions to the letter.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

· The minimum educational requirement is a high school diploma or GED. 

· One year prior experience in banking required.

Schedule:

· Full-time Monday through Friday 8am – 5pm, some Saturday’s 9am – noon required

Salary:

· $20.50 – 24 per hour, commensurate with experience
